Retired from technical support at ROLM/IBM/Siemens. Currently living in Country of Panamà part of the year. Have for past 2 years been purchasing non working laptops and tablets. Ones I can fix we take to outlying schools in the mountains. There the teachers get Microsoft Surface Laptop 3’ and the children depending on age get the Surface Go or Surface 6 or above. The country does not really support or do any testing but we saw the need during pandemic. When I began working in technical support we always trouble shoot down t component level. Things have really changed I’m trying same with these newer computers and doing everything except micro soldering.
