Hello,
nice to meet everyone.
I have a lenovo inspiron 5406 i7 wich will not turn on. I browsed the web for solutions and tried all the available solutions.
Behavior is as follows:
- charging adapter led light is on when connected to laptop, no shorts on power
- no charging led at any time
- when pressing the power button, nothing happens. No fan, no lights on keyboard, no signs of life
Things i tried:
- removed battery connector, removed charging adapter, long press on power button to remove static
- connected power adapter and pressed power button, no result
- swapped bios battery with a new one
- left battery unplugged to reset bios, reinsert battery, remove every power source and long press power, reconnect charging adapter and try to boot, no effect
- tried a Power Delivery charging adapter repeating above steps, still nothing
Also, since i own an oscilloscope i verified that:
- there is power in the small voltage regulators right after the power connector, can see some 3v3 and other small voltages in the area around connector
- no voltage across the rest of the board, expecially in the battery connector there only is 500 mV on some of the connectors except first and last pins, wich i expect to be Vcc and Gnd
- battery is completely flat, no tension on first and last pins wich i expect to be Vcc and Gnd from battery markings
Can anyone suggest how to proceed? Is the motherboard dead?
Best Regards,
Giorgio
